I need to let you know that Rudi of the Rentals Department has been an amazing person to work with. He has been incredible in helping me with all the planning and organizing this trip. Rudi has put up with my constant nagging and numerous requests. All of us that are coming in my group wanted to let you know that he has played a big part in helping make this trip possible. Even though I haven´t met Rudi yet he has become like a friend. I am making the assumption that everyone at Harley-Davidson Cape Town works in the same manor as Rudi. Since I have my Dyna, I am most pleased with it. My wife Anel has for the first time ever sat down with me and spent a couple of hours polishing and cleaning the bike. Just a short note to say thanks for all your assistance and patience with my purchase. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and sheer enthusiasm displayed by everyone - from the parking/security guy (who even opened my car door for me when I arrived !) through friendly and efficient sales and workshop people right up to the dealer principle, Ad, who took the time to answer any questions I had with genuine enthusiasm. As you know Kimberley is quite a distance from Cape Town but it was well worth the journey and the time spent to collect the bike.
As far as the bike is concerned - what can I say - its simply a superb product and maybe I am now beginning to understand some of what the Harley Davidson hype is all about. Its so much more than a motorcycle!

I took delivery of my new baby, aka "Sizzlin' Liz", 2007 H-D Heritage Softail Classic yesterday at 17:00. Karen and I went for our first ride at 18:20 - in our new "kit" and it was fabulous (bike and kit).
Firstly to Joe: for remembering my name from the beginning of my many visits to your dealership, for his friendship and professionalism, for being very patient with my hundreds of "stupid" questions. He was always informative, never pressurized me to make a decision (regarding model, etc.), always replied very promptly to e-mails, phone calls and all queries, and was always positive about the brand and, in my opinion, a true ambassador for Harley.
Secondly to Mariska: for keeping my wife and mother-in-law calm about the impending decision to buy a H-D, for always being cheerful, for always providing me with reading material that I requested and in general, just for being so positive and energy-driven. She too, in my opinion, is a true ambassador for the brand. Her interaction with "the wives" (who make the purchasing decision in most cases, I suspect) is truly of major strategic importance to your business.
Thirdly to Peter: for cleaning the bike, for delivering it to me in Hout Bay in one piece, for treating it with respect and for training me in the basic operation.
Fourthly to Rudy and the other H-D Cape Town staff (whose names I do not know): I had far less contact with them during the past few months, but they were always friendly and helpful and kept the coffee pot full, which is much appreciated when you're about to spend a few hundred thousand Rand on "another, non-essential, #@%& toy we can't afford" (not my words).
Lastly, to Ad: Karen loves her new leather jacket - it's stunning - thanks again! Judging from the stares we got on our first ride yesterday evening, I'm sure many prospective buyers will visit your showroom soon.
Please forward a copy of this e-mail to those staff members who do not have e-mail access but nevertheless have played an important "behind the scenes" role in our purchasing decision - it all added up in the end.

I just wanted to say thank you for making our stay in Cape Town unforgettable. The ride we took the last morning between Cape Town and Houtbaai was the most memorable one I´ve ever had...sun, ocean and mountains on a perfect road, and to top it off a huge rainbow followed us for a few minutes. I´ve never been so close to tears because of such beauty before. I´ve gained a huge appreciation for non V-Rods that I´ve never had. Your customer service was second to none and you´ve made my local dealer look pale in comparison. Your dealership is doing a huge service for the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. I´m so glad you suggested I get a Big 5 shirt, that I treasure since it reminds me of Cape Town.
