  HARLEY-DAVIDSON CAPE TOWN March 2008

As the old saying goes “absence makes the heart grow fonder” and in this case that’s what I’m hoping for! I know that you were deprived of your monthly newsletter fix in February and the March issue will skid in on the last day of the month…phew!

Folks, it’s been a busy and exciting time as I’m sure many of you will know as you have either attended HOG’s legendary Route 62 Rally, been a part of the press launch of the 2008 CVO’s and Rocker C to the cream of the crop of SA’s motoring journalists, attended our 4th and 5th Cape Custom unveiling, have been chosen to be a part of one of two teams competing in a Cape Custom Biker Build Off, attended the HOG CT Marshall training, courtesy of Ad Keukelaar, with Theo Verkammen, an Inspector & Chief Riding Instructor with the Dutch Police Academy in Rotterdam, or been in the shop whilst royalty (King Abdullah II of Jordan), rock stars (heavy metal band Korrn) and Consul General’s have visited us and left with very sought after and “fit for a king” H-D Cape Town clothing and accessories and so the list of activities goes on! Check out some of the pics below that captured these moments. Oh, and in between that we also delivered 44 bikes during February and March! Many happy miles to the new members of the H-D Cape Town family as well as those existing members who traded in their previously adored Harley for another! Well done to Joe and Anthony for the fantastic effort they keep putting in to ensure that we retain the honour of being Africa’s #1 selling Dealer!

The new look and feel website is not a rumour! Unfortunately the roll out thereof has been slightly delayed realising as we went along that to make it the state of the art, interactive and exciting tool that we had always visualised was going to take a lot more time than we had initially forecasted. The good news is we are 80% of the way there and should complete the finishing touches within the next few weeks. I still welcome any feedback or suggestions for the new site you may have so please e-mail them to me on marketing@harley-davidson-capetown.com.

On the news front check out the April issue of Getaway Magazine – Dieter Losskarn has written an article of his riding experience on our 2008 Road King demo bike – perhaps you may be inspired to try it out at our next Demo day!

The next planned event is another Demo Day within the next 2 weeks. Venue and date will be confirmed via sms shortly. I can tell you – it’s going to Rock or would that be Rocker C!

”Til next
